Your wedding day should be nothing less than an unforgettable celebration — the kind of day & night that everyone remembers. As the live-entertainment team behind so many incredible weddings (and as we say at Next Level Music: “you deserve to have the time of your lives,” we've compiled our top 10 tips to help you make your wedding truly spectacular.
If you're more of an audio/video person, you can watch Tim from Next Level Music talk about this here:
10 Essential Tips for an EPIC Wedding — From the Experts at Next Level Music!

1. Have the bar in the same room as the entertainment
Nothing kills the party vibe faster than the guests migrating to a separate bar room while your band, DJ or entertainers are in a different space. Keep the bar and entertainment in one room so the energy stays consolidated and the whole crowd is part of the same celebration.
2. Delegate everything so you don’t have anything to think about on the day
On your big day you should be present, connected and enjoying every moment — not worrying about logistics, timetables, vendor issues or whether the playlist is right. Assign a trusted person (or a planner) to handle everything. You’ve done the planning, now let someone else run the show so you can soak it all in.
3. Rehearse any set-pieces
Whether it’s your first dance, your grand entrance, the ceremony processional, or the big kiss — a little rehearsal goes a long way. Decide in advance: how will you enter the dance floor? Are you holding hands during the ceremony? Are you facing each other or the celebrant? Will the photographer capture the kiss for the right length of time? Practice anything you feel nervous about so you know how it flows and can enjoy it in the moment.
4. Prepare for everything, then on the day… let go
Yes, plan ahead. But on the day itself, relinquish control. The weather might surprise you. Someone might trip. Something might not go exactly to schedule. But trying to micromanage everything will rob you of being present. So: plan, then surrender. Connect with each other and your guests, laugh off the small glitches, and fully immerse in the joy of it all.
5. Get great entertainment.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime celebration — make it special with live music or entertainment that makes the night stand out. At Next Level Music we specialise in luxury wedding show bands in London and across the UK, tailored to your taste and guaranteed to pack the dance floor. Next Level Music

Because when the live performance is a highlight, everything else falls into place.
6. Keep speeches to a maximum of 5 minutes each (3 minutes ideally)
Nobody goes to a wedding thinking “great — I hope there will be six TED-talk-length speeches”. Short, heartfelt, and meaningful is far better than long wind-ups and over-elaboration. Respect your guests’ attention, and save space for dancing, celebrating and connection.
7. Lighting makes a huge difference — don’t underestimate it!
Lighting transforms a space. A well–lit venue means your photos will pop, your dance floor will feel alive, and even ceremony spaces will feel magical. Lighting ties together décor, music and mood — the “look” of your day is as important as the “feel”.
8. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do.
Cake? First dance? Bouquet toss? If you don’t want it — skip it. The day is yours. Everyone else is playing by your rules. Make the wedding your own, not someone else’s version of “what weddings look like”. Trust your instincts.
9. Great wedding planners are worth every penny.
If you can secure a planner who gets your vision and has experience with high-energy weddings (especially in the London or UK luxury scene) — bookings, vendor coordination, timeline creation, backup plans: all that becomes someone else’s job. You show up. You celebrate. The planner handles hiccups and keeps the day seamless.
10. Plan a few moments for just the two of you to check in and reset.
Weddings are incredible — but they’re also emotional, intense and often surreal. Amid all the guests, the spotlight, the music and the celebration: plan a 5-10 minute “pause” just the two of you. Step away, grab a drink, look around at the faces, breathe together. Those little pocket-moments help you reconnect, feel grounded and fully enjoy the rest of the night.

BONUS WEDDING TIP!
11. Book photo & video for your the party hours
This is so often overlooked as most couples don't know: a lot of wedding photographers and videographers (for some crazy reason) clock off at 9pm (just after the first dance). This leaves a huge black hole in your wedding memories. Some of the best moments happen on the dance floor, at the bar and all around the party - it's essential to capture them & well worth the extra spend! You'll see yourselves and your guests celebrating & having the time of their lives in ways that just wouldn't be captured earlier in the day.
